Eleven shows routed. Eighteen performed, inside the same dates, with around eighty people on the road. The routing was rebuilt while the tour was live and moving, often daily.
The brief
Handsome Tours brought Fred again.. to Australia and New Zealand in early 2024. It opened with a one-night pop-up at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on 27 February, the biggest on-sale in that room’s history, and rolled straight into an arena run: Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Spark Arena in Auckland, Waitangi Park in Wellington, Perth, and pop-up shows on the Gold Coast and at The Domain in Sydney announced days before they happened.
The original routing was 11 performances. As demand grew it became 18, within the same overall timeframe, with approximately 80 people travelling.
What Ali did
Ali was tour manager for the B/C party and production coordinator across the run. Every added show moved transport, accommodation, flights, schedules, production requirements and personnel movements. Routing and logistics were rebuilt continually while the existing tour stayed live: a pop-up in a park announced on a Wednesday for a Saturday still needs a stage, a crew, trucks, hotels and a way to get eighty people there and back.
How it went
The expanded run was delivered through constant communication, detailed coordination and the ability to respond quickly as plans changed, often daily. Eighteen shows, one country pair, no gaps.
